Once you have enrolled onto an Advanced Rider Course online at IAM Roadsmart and either specified Wirral or been allocated to us by your postcode we will get in touch with you to discuss which course we can fit you onto. As a well recognised club our ARC courses do get booked up fairly quickly.
Normally our courses last somewhere between 6 and 9 weeks, though this depends on both your rider history as well as how much you put into reading and practicing. Its not just an attendance course, nor a basic rider course - this is the country's leading advanced rider course!
Initial Zoom/Online introduction to the basics (normally Weds evening session the week before your course starts
Week 1 - Practical demonstrations & on-road observed session (Introduction to IPSGA)
2nd Zoom/Online session (Junctions and Roundabouts)
Week 2 - On-road observed session (Junctions and Roundabouts)
Week 3 - On-road observed session (Corners and Bends & slow riding techniques)
Week 4 - On-road observed session (Motorways & Dual Carriageways)
Week 5 - On-road observed session (Overtaking)
Week 6 - On-road observed session (Mock test and follow on)
Further sessions (weeks 7, 8, 9 etc depend on which areas our observer team consider you need to focus on to achieve a consistent ability to ride to and advanced test standard. As soon as we consider you are able to achieve this, we will 'trigger' your test and IAM Roadsmart will allocate one of their independent eaminers to arrange a day and time to test your new skills.
Your course fee includes the Advanced Rider Test
